Fort Casey

Fort Casey is on the west side of Whidbey Island, and was constructed in the early 1900s to guard Puget Sound from invasion. Today it is a park, and you can climb over and around most of it. We came here as kids for field trips.

Lunch on Whidbey Island

We packed a lunch (long story) and ate along Puget Sound on the west side of Whidbey Island, just south of Ebey's Landing. The kids had fun finding strange creatures and shells, and climbing on the driftwood.

It was a little foggy so we went to Fort Casey after we ate. Later in the afternoon we returned and climbed up the bluff at Ebey's Landing.

Deception Pass

This is the bridge to Whidbey Island across Deception Pass. It is 180 feet above the water and a little scary to walk across.Hang on Taylor! In the background you can see Lynn pushing Mackenzie along. Cassidy and I bravely led the way.

Lynden City Park and Edaleen Dairy

We visited Lynden City Park with Uncle Chris while he was down from Alberta. It's another one of our old childhood stomping grounds, and kind of fun to share with another generation. Of course, all the cool stuff is new!

We went straight to the source for ice cream, Edaleen Dairy on the Guide north of Lynden.

A nice picture of Brad, Bethany and Dwight's kids.

Here are three good looking guys and their sister.

Lynden Museum

A trip to Lynden wouldn't be complete without visiting the Lynden Pioneer Museum.

Model Lynden Transport trucks. Their terminal was just up the road from where we grew up.

Yes, that is Chris checking out one of the exhibits.

Taylor, looks like coming out of the outhouse?
